Clearance Approval for Indonesian Territory (CAIT)

Requirements for applying Clearance Approval for Indonesian Territory (CAIT) to sail into Indonesian Territory

All application has to transmit through Agency (Please check to the Embassy/Consulate for the list of Agency), but at least with some requirements as follow:

  1. Copy passport of all crew. You may send it by mail or e-mail, not by fax.
  2. A passport photo of the captain by mail or e-mail.
  3. Copy of Yacht Certificate/Yacht Registration and call sign of the boat.
  4. Last port of call before entering Indonesia.
  5. First port of call after leaving Indonesia.
  6. Itinerary and date of visit.
  7. Sponsor letter from the Agency addressed to Indonesian Embassy/Consulate to request Social and Cultural Visit Visa. If your visit is 1 month or less, after holding CAIT, you may directly sail to Indonesia and request Visa on Arrival (VOA), for citizen of several countries and at specific Port. (not all of port having this service of VOA, please check to the Embassy/Consulate or any of Visa Requirement site)
  8. There will be an Agency fee for CAIT and Sponsor letter etc.
  • Please inform to the Agency where of Indonesian Embassy/Consulate you are going to request your visa from.
  1. Please inform to the Agency where your original CAIT and sponsor letter should be sent to.
  2. Approximately the Agency needs 20 days to process the CAIT after receiving documents and payment and about 10 days to send it by registered express mail.

CAIT is valid for 3 months and may be prolonged for every 3 months. Fee may be applied for every extension.

Please be advised that for the Agency fee mostly in US$ and will always change subject to Rupiah exchange rate.

Firearms are not permitted in Indonesia
